CFPJ International
In 2007, the French-Russian journalism Centre (CFRJ : Centre franco-Russe de journalisme) replaced the Master's degree of the French-Russian Journalism Center of the Faculty of journalism (Lomonossov University, Moscow, Russia) which was created about 12 years ago with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The CFRJ, located within the State university of Lomonossov in Moscow, offers journalism courses for graduate students.
Each year, about 15 students take a curriculum which focuses on web-journalism. Two thirds of the students come from the local journalism faculty, the other third being young professionals or coming from other universities.
During the first part of the academic year, the Russian students follow journalism courses combining specific web techniques and enthusiasm for real reporting assignments. The students have access to a top teaching staff, in keeping with the reality of the media environment. These courses are given by CFPJ International's acknowledged journalists-trainers in their own speciality: on-line press, Russia and Eastern Europe experts-journalists, reporters, etc.
The basic principles of journalism are taught by teachers of Lomonossov University.
After this core curriculum, a group of the best students are granted a scholarship by the French Embassy to continue the curriculum with training courses in Paris. They thus have the opportunity to improve their knowledge in on-line journalism, blog reporting, print press website management, journalism ethics, podcasts and videocasts, etc.
Moreover, alongside the curriculum, the students are offered the opportunity to do internships in French or Russian Web-press Companies.
The first CFRJ "web 2.0" class just graduated in June 2008.
